Dr. B. Edward O’Dell is the medical director and co-founder of Genesis Cosmetic Laser Center. He is also the developer of our exclusive Signature Lipo-Sculpting offered only at our center. Dr. O’Dell earned his M.D. degree from the Medical University of South Carolina in 1981 and did his internship and residency at the Medical College of Georgia where he was on the ground floor of the use of lasers in medicine. After moving to Florence in 1985 he was instrumental in getting both hospitals in town to purchase their first medical lasers in 1986. He was also the first physician in Florence to use lasers in minimally invasive laparoscopic surgery and spearheaded advancements locally as new technology became available. Upon founding Genesis Dr. O’Dell has had the opportunity to further expand the cosmetic laser offerings to his patients as new products evolve.
For the last several years Dr. O’Dell has become the top injector for Botox and Juvederm fillers in Northeastern South Carolina and continues to expand those offerings with new and innovative products and techniques from Allergan and other companies.
Since founding Genesis Dr. O’Dell has developed an exclusive overlap of three lipo techniques into one procedure he calls Genesis Signature Lipo-Sculpting. Instead of merely doing liposuction or only using a laser with the lipo, the three techniques he uses compliment one another to give a more outstanding result. Simply put it is a combination of ultrasonic Vaser Lipo, Laser Lipo, and Renuvion put together that makes the results stand out.
In the last few years Dr. O’Dell has been the exclusive provider for Biote in the Florence area, giving both his female and male patients a new lease on life by use of bio-identical hormone pellets. With over 35 years of hormone experience this has elevated his ability to reverse the effects of menopause and andropause in a safe and effective way.
Dr. O’Dell is a fellow in the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology and is a member in the American Academy of Cosmetic Surgeons. He has worked with many of the leading Cosmetic physicians and surgeons in Miami, Phoenix, Philadelphia, Dallas and California. In addition he also teaches liposuction at the Genesis Center in Florence.
Dr. O’Dell resides in Florence with his wife and family.
